80 series clunk when u let the clutch out if i fit a part time kit from marks 4x4 conversion will this get rid of the clunk

More info needed, what mods have you done, is it a single clunk....................

yeah it sounds like backlash to the front driveshaft
1992 80 Series Cruiser 4.2D-Lift-Tires-Lights-Winch-Snorkel-UHF-Dual Batts..need locker :(

no mods at all seems like back lash in drive train just one clunk when letting clutch out
no clunk in hi or low 4x4
i want to fix it as its the only fault with the car

Full time 80 series especially pre-1995 tend to wear out the hub drive flange on the front CV which is why you hear a clunk when you put it in gear. In 1995 they went to a longer splined model to reduce the problem. Replace the drive flange and see if the clunk goes away.

maybe you're letting the clutch out too fast.

back lash can also be noticed when you get on and off the throttle
