No Power - 3l

Post by the plough »

Have just finished bolting up a 3l motor with turbo into where the 2l used to sit. After getting the car running with a new exhaust, the truck has no power at all!!!!!!!

It seems to rev ok, when just in nuetral, but when you try to drive it, it just has no power at all

All solutions???

So lets get this straight, you have installed a 3l engine, which I asume is a 2.8L diesel. You have also istalled a turbo, which is probably from a 2LT.

OK, you say you have little or no power. Does it actually move? I mean you can drive but theres not a lot of power. If true, have you installed the turbo correctly? Any leak will reduce power or wrongly installed tubes and pipes.

Did you adjust the injector pump, or get it tuned?

When I put the turbo on mine (3L with a DTS kit) we made up a 2 1/2 inch exhaust bolted it all in, it sounded ok but we didn't notice any real improvement until we adjusted the fuel then I got it tuned by a diesel place and that was when I really noticed the difference.

Just bolting it on won't make it any better.
