I just purchased a 60series 2F that is going into a 40 Series which has a 2F and 4spd.

A few questions

Is the input shaft on the 4spd the same size as the bush on the 60 series 2F?
Is the clutch the same as the 40 series? will i be able to bolt the bellhousing, clutch etc straight to the 40 series 4spd?

thanks.

your bellhousing will bolt to the new motor.
new bellhousing may not fit your g/box.

Last christmas I fitted a 2f out of a 60 series into a 1973 f 4 speed 40 series. the input shaft is the same, 10 spline, no problem. A 2f 4speed should be the same in a 60 or a 40.
My problem was, I didnt get the rear engine mounts and r/h clutch slave cylinder with the motor. So I had to swap over the origional f bellhousing with the l/h clutch slave and engine mounts. the whole lot bolted up ok, 60 series 2f to '73 bellhousing, clutch and gearbox. It should all bolt up ok.
