Had the 80 a couple of months now and had noticed a lot of wind up while turning sharp. It's a full time 4wd model and doing a simple 90 degree turn at almost full lock one tyre (varying depending on situation) will skip to unload wind up at least once turning. This happens to both front and rear tyres in varying situations. also now while turning sharp going forwards I have a CV sounding clicking.
Anyone had this problem with the 80 diff lock? I know part time is the ultimate solution but funds are scarce and the 80 wasn't going to be played with until the Middy was done.
Thanks in advance,
Ben

It does sound like the diff lock is stuck on..
im guessin the light on the dash isnt on?
If u turn the ign to on and put the t case in neutral and push the centre d lock button u should be able to here the diff lock motor lock and unlock when u press the button...
If u cant here it then i would say the motor is stuffed..

Your transfer is locked buddy! Worst scenario is the sungears in the centre diff have cracked...heard of it once b4...locks the ctr diff completely....
Second more probable answer is the electric low range diff lock has shat itself in the locked position....problem is there are about 6 different reasons why it could stop, from the fuse to the motor is full of water to the transfer switch is not telling the relays to unlock...etc...

If you have no diff lok button sounds like you have the transfer box with a viscose coupling in it like mine.talking to a guy on frazer in may with the the same model as mine a 95 gxl limited model.he had to have the transfer case fixed.the viscose coupling seized giving him the same problem you describe.you dont have to remove the whole gear box from your 80 the transfer case can be separated from the gear box in the vehicle.the viscose coupling works a bit like a limited slip diff when in high 4 and the wheels slip it loks automaticly.
