Anyone replaced their Lucas Elctronic Dizzy with aftermarke
Has anyone replaced the Lucas electronic Dizzy with the ignition amp with any thing else.
If so what worked?
If so what worked?
On my first 3.5 I changed to dizzy from points to electronic with a piranha kit. Easy to do and better overall but still had some water problems and eventually advance problems as the dizzy progressively wore. Then converted the 3.5 with a bosch dizzy purchased from Ritters - worked a treat.
More recently had a 3.9 taken to 4.6 with the dizzy replaced and set up by scorcher (?) in Mitcham. (Off Maroondah hwy turn left down Rooks Road then the 1st left) can't remember exactly what they did but didn't have any problems.

Apparntly gurus on dizzys.
I fnot a rude qu. What was the cost of the scorcher?
I have had a pefromance ignition ( scorcher ) bosch dizzy on 81 rangie for 11 years, as soon as i fitted it there was a performance gain - engine would rev harder and economy was improved. That and a 350 holley was the best mods i have done to it, i also have a gm hei dizzy that will go on the 3.5 when i swap that out of my 85 rr and into the 81 ( now a ute) - being replaced with a 4.4. A buick 350 hei will fit and also a buick v6 if you change the shaft. This is a buick v6 body with olds shaft on a 4.4.

sorry for another dig :
What ford ignition module did you use ? I thought they where all built into the ecu in the oz fords ?
I'm going down the edis road atm, Ive got a 35 tooth crank angle cog and sensor, but am trying to find a matching ford ignition module (6cyl).
I was going to ditch the ford setup and go the holden V6..... but if i can source ford...
I'll be driving it from the megasquirt ecu.
Thanks
Paging bruce :Soundsgood wrote:I have recenly installed Ford EDIS and coil packs. Have left the dist in place to drive the oil pump. The EDIS gets its advance and dwell signal from an after market ECU. All working well - so far.
