Bolt-on 2" Receiver Hitch

Has anyone tried this Rocky Road bolt-on 2" receiver (at bottom of page) http://www.rocky-road.com/zukmisc.html ??

According to Rocky Road: "The Samurai comes from the factory with a flat drop bar in the rear. Our hitch kit bolts onto that using existing threaded holes in that drop bar." They also say it should only take a few minutes to install.

I cant see this flat drop bar in my '90 WT sierra.. does anyone else have it ? Maybe its only in US zukes ? I do have a standard towbar but I want to get rid of this and use the 2" hitch for clearance reasons.

I think that you replace the standard tow bar tounge with the bolt on reciever hitch.

Thats what I thought initially, but the tongue on my standard towbar is bolted north/south and the pictures of the receiver hitch from RR show its bolted east/west.

Is there some adaptor plate or can you drill & tap your std bar to accept these??

They are supposed to bolt straight up to the standard rear bumper using stock holes according to RR's ebay auction and a 3rd party auction as well :

This looks like it doesnt go where the bullbar is but where the towing bar is, i have seen 2 dif styles of towing bar that this would bolt right on to..


you wouldnt want this on your bullbar neway, its only held on by about 6 tiny bolts..

ummmm.. noone has mentioned bullbars here :) we've all been talking about the rear of the suzi :)

Any chance you could get some pic's of the 2 dif styles of towing bar you think this would bolt onto ?? I'd like to see how they compare to the one I have installed.
