The gearing is different on the XP as well
I think for the price you would be better off spending the money on the xp alot of people who use the XP find them extremely powerful.
you also dont here any bad reports about the xp but a few comments about the XD which could because the XP is relatively new but either way still havnt heard anything negative about the xp.

The XP pulls harder, longer and doesnt seem to get as hot. A few of my mates run the XD and have had a few dramas, And the only drama I have had is with mud and gunk getting into the motor, but thats bound to happen on any low mount. Im really happy with mine, and I know that cheezy runs one on his Mav too, and dont think he has had many dramas with it either...
So IMO, go the XP.
