80 series springs

Post by shanegtr »

Looking to upgrade my springs. I already have old man emu shocks. 2-3" lift is what im after, front has winch bar but no winch yet, rear will have a twin spare wheel carrier after the new springs have gone in. Just wondering what some of you guys have and recomend and what the ride is like.

i went with kings in my 80. well priced and good quality. stay well clear of anything thats soft as the 80's have a high COG and it doesnt feel too good when that height shifts so quickly under a soft spring, besides being a heavy truck it will flex well with stiff springs.

may want to take your time and figure out how much the rear will sag under the weight of the new bar as they aint light and also consider what other bolt on accessories you seriously intend putting on as these will drag it back down to terra firma real quick and b4 long your looking for heavier duty springs.

i believe you would be best with either a 2 or 5in lift as there are no shocks made for any length in between (correct me if im wrong) to go with a 3-4 inch spring will see you bottoming out on a 2in shock or have the spring fall out with a 5in shock. go 5 any you wont look back, i did.

cheers n good luck.
