Have found a few front Dana 44's out of Chevy Pickups. Any idea what they are worth.
I know they are not as strong as Dana 60's, and am just wondering whether to offer any money on em and if they would be wanted by anyone??

Are they the 5 stud or 8 stud?
I am after a 8stud for my buggy. Also must be a 4wd front diff.
Otherwise, what can a rear 8stud diff go for?
Single wheel.
Thanks
Chris

i bought a 14 bolt full float chev diff, open centre, 4.56 gears, for $350. I put in new bearings, Detroit locker and all new brakes.
I also bought the front diff, 4.56 gears, Dana 44 low pinion, flat top knuckles for $350. I kept the knuckles for my Ford F150 D44 and sold the housing, centre and axles for $300.
The Ford D44 (77 1/2 - 80) is a high pinion solid axle 5 lug in the F100-F150 and a low pinion 8 lug in the F250 of the same years.

I am not sure what driveline and size tyres you are intending to run in your buggy but if I was you I wouldn't bother with dana44's.
All depends how you drive I guess but if you are going to spend the money it could be better spent on bigger diffs.
Dana 44 weak points are the uni joints and other parts like ball joints.
Even with a set of CTM's and alloy axles they are still not massively strong.
All up to you though as you know what you are building it for.
cheers
