Commodore Conversion for a 4runner???

Post by 7runner »

Hey guys i have an 85 4runner and I'm sure someone would have asked this before but i was just wondering how much effort is required to do the swap from the 3Y to the 3.8 VN commodore motor or would i be better of doing a bit off work to the 3Y, i already got Pacemaker extractors on it with a 2" exhaust and that gave it a bit more go but just not enough to pull the 35" mtr's, so just want to know if i put a bigger cam or something like that in the 3Y would it go better or just do the conversion to the 3.8?

Any help would be much appreciated..

Cheers guys..
