air con gas

Post by 96hilux »

Just wondering if anyone knows how much gas should be put into a a/c unit of a 96 d/cab hilux, as when i got it regased the guy put the same amount back in as what he got out, the system seems to run very hot but still cools the car allright.

When you say the system runs hot, is it the air coming out of the vents or an ally pipe getting warm?

One is bad, one is perfectly normal.

the guy that gassed it up should have put a combination gauge on it to measure the high and low pressures, along with a temp probe in the vent, to tune it for maximum cooling efficiency. If it already had gas in it, why was it changed?

take it to a proper shop and get the to check to see if it is over or under charged - either condition can cause it to run too warm.
