replacement for siezed 2.6

Post by dan75 »

hi everybody, the 2.6 motor in my paj just siezed, and i'm looking to replace it, but i have a pretty tight budget. i'm pretty much limited to getting another runner from the wreckers or a cheap bunky. i,ve looked around and done some searches on this forum, and found my options are an engine from another paj, or a manual sigma. does anyone know if the block from the 2.6 magnas is the same? could i drop a good magna short engine in and bolt on my head? I also heard a rumour that 1986 era couriers and mazda b2600 had the same 4g54 motor. does any body know if they will fit? it would give me alot more options if they did. I dont want to have to modify anything too much, as long as i can swap the required parts over fairly easy. any other idea? remember i'm on a pretty tight budget.
cheers.

For head compatibility, see if you can find head gaskets for each motor and compare side by side. I read somewhere that Magna and Sigma heads will interchange with a little work, so you might be OK.

Cheers,
