Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Where would I get 1 - 2" spring spacers from in Vic? Have 2.5 inch bump stop clearance at the front and 4" at the rear but want more lift but like the soft coils that are on it? am I wasting my time and would I be better to replace the springs! The RR is only used off road .

Try this list of springs may help.
remember raising front will cause the loss of castor.
RR have 2.5 degrees Std and you loose half a degree for every one inch lift.
Will most likly have vibe issues after 75mm lift, but all is correctable.

yes BUT with what weight...Your installed length and bumpstop clearance measurements are directly related to the weight.
On my car - '84RR, I use a lighter spring and get a taller lift than a mate with a '93.

Are there any benifits or problems of running spacers as i was looking at putting in some 30mm spacers

I have currently a Holden V8 in my RR.

Front has steel b/bar.

Rear. step bumper and spare wheel carrier.

If your going to use more than a 25mm/1" spacer you will need to lower your bumpstop to stop the spring binding on compression. This is with a stock inboard bumpstop and stock stroke shocks.

If you have longer travel shocks and stock position bumpstops the compressed side will compress further than normal and you may find the spring binds earlier during articulation. Not a huge issue since in straight compression they will be ok, only under articulation it might bind.

spacer can be handy because you dont alter the ultimate position of the shock in a compressed situation but gain the lift and if the shock is long enough more droop.

spacers in front accentuate the curve of the spring which can be a problem too.

Anyone playing with springs should use a known poundage spring (stock 130's for example) and figure out the real weight on each corner and then use that to spec their new springs according to the ride height and rate they want. Level the rig with spacers or most places can supply longer/shorter springs in the same rate. ie 220lb and 180lb 18" free and 17" free are off the shelf from the places listed

agreed 100% spacers should only really be used to level the ride out buy not more than 1"... if more "levelling" is required there is usually a spring that would do the job better without spacers

I had a set of 30mm spring packers made up at a local engeneering shop and they wern't cheap (I think I paid abouyt $300 a set to have them made!!). I have removed them now as my insurace company were not too impressed with what I had done and had to remove them to get insurance obn Aquarangie.

Make sure you get the right shocks or your efort is a waste of time.
