HELP!!!! Shock lenght help! URGENT

Post by NZ4x4 »

I need some help guys, I’m having a mind blank.

I just got my Superior Drop shackles (front and rear). I know that my shocks are going to be too short. How do I fit shocks that are long enough? If I fit new front upper shock hoops I can fit longer shocks because the collapsed length is greater but doesn’t the expanded length also become greater?

If someone has fitted superior shackles on the front and/or rear could they tell me what they did to achieve full travel and tell me the collapsed and extended lengths of their shocks?

This is really starting to piss me off!!!

yea i know how to find the length, but the extended length of the shock will be about 2.5 times longer than the collapsed length. so what i want to know is how to i fit a shock that is approx 650-700mm long when my maximum collapsed length is approx 300mm (distance between shock mounts)?

Had a look through our database, best I could find was

Compressed 384mm
Extended 676mm
Travel 292mm

You would probably have to move your upper shock mounts inboard to get the best fit and use the full travel.

PM me if you want more info

I have figured it out now, (after 5 hours of sitting at my desk thinking and going through shock catalogues)
