turbo 400 gearbox q's

Post by guzzla »

ripped the sump off the th400 that had been sitting outside uncovered for sometime with 3/4 holes plugged to replace the sump as a small pinprick hole had rusted thru. :bad-words:

i was greated with this white gooz that was floating in the bottom, not much but also didnt notice any when i drained it first. doesnt look like water ingress but i may be wrong, what do you think :?: (photos below)

when running cooler lines does it matter which way you run the flow and return lines, the picture isnt real clear but they are up and to the right with 1 ontop of the other :?:

finally, that big servo thingy at the bottom has a spout comming off it that i cant remember where to route the tube, any clues please :?:

thanks guys,

nathan

Well the pics arent the clearest but "the servo thingy" looks like the vacum modulator and goes to the inlet manifold with some rubber hose. With running the cooler lines it doesnt matter which way they go.

thanks RV, much appreciated.

as for the white sfuff i think it may be assembly grease of some sort as i had the casings swapped over b4 it went into hibernation - feels like a teflon type grease if theres such a thing.
