Ignition Coil

Post by drewe »

All - has anyone put a 'third party performance' ingnition coil in their Roza?

Just.... I just can't get an original from anywhere.. They quote me $80 or 90 and then can't get it!!!!!

I have seen 'third party' ones for about $60 - you know, all the BS about fatter spark and all that - I just want one that works! Mine looks original (208000K's, 15 years!), and has double the maximum resistance across the terminals.......

??

Thanks

I bought an 'MSD Blaster' coil when I had my Subaru and it made quite a bit of difference.. If you need a new coil.. spend the extra and buy one of these.. they're really good stuff

Are they easy enough to put in? Since there are so many types (like the Feroza has three pins on the bottom and one on the top), is it easy enough to make a single one work??

Just check out the wiring diagrams and you shouldn't have any dramas fitting any aftermarket coil.

Just don't get one that's designed for use with a ballast resistor.

I remember putting one on my old Feroza, was just a generic Bosch one, was a black one for EFI engines. Looked similiar to the stock one. If memory serves me correct it used the same moutning points. Can't remember what i did with the wires though, think i just cut them out of the plug and stuck crimp rings on them.
