Adjusting the transbrake on a 95 disco
How do you do it, i haven't had a look but the father inlaw keeps complaining that it doesn't work and thinks i know how to do it. thanks.
Bottom front of park brake backing plate there is a 17mm bolt. Clockwise to tighten park brake. Adjust up until the drum locks, then loosen until it turns freely. If the lever still has a long way to go until the brake works, try adjusting the primary cable; pull out the electric window switch panel and take up the leather park brake lever surround. Where the cable goes through the floor there is a large circlip and a knurled plastic 'nut'. You use a long flat blade screwdriver to rotate this 'nut' anticlockwise, which lengthens the cable outer, thereby shortening the inner and tightening it. Make sure you check the drum rotates easily afterwards still.
