Sounds like blocked heater vents and may have had some rain a while back which has filled them, or you washed the car.

I could be wrong though.

Check the plastic tubes that are located in the firewall (inside) disconect them, put your finger in and try to clean as much as you can. Be prepared because sometimes it is gross the amount of leaves, mud and Sh1t in there.

Suzukis generally leak.
they leak from a number of places, but most often around the base of the screen, around the screen itself, around the soft top, the soft top itself, the transition area from the windscreen frame to the bars above the doors, and the ventilation fan drains.

all of these can/will result in water in and around the footwell/pedal area.

Suzuki knew that sierras leaked, esp soft tops, which is why softops never got carpet floors or seats.

also, off road damage or corrosion can cause water to find its way in around the accelerator pedal area whilst driving in the rain from road spray.

I would not recommend spending too much time trying to fix anything too much except for the heater drains, (unless it is a massive leak) Most of the time you won't track it down, uncover lots of things you wished you hadn't and still end up with a footwell full of water.

As said, don't waste too much energy on it particularly if it's a soft top. If not, check the things already mentioned. I'd probably want a drier car too if I had a hardtop.

Don't fight it if it's a soft top. Just do what I do and keep a raincoat in the glovebox.

well i gave up trying to clean out my heater tubes, so i just put some tape over the slots just above the bonnet.. no more smelly carpet, no more puddles of water. works a treat

if you have a look in the engine bay you will see a dump pipe looking thing next to the exhaust manifold on the firewall..if you then get into the passenger side footwell and look up to where that vent comes into the cabin, remove this and this is the vent that is meant to let water pass out.

air comes into the box via the slots just under the window at the back of the bonnet, but mud and water gets down in these vents and clogs the heater core, and when water comes in, it overflows, into the footwells. pain in the arse to clean out, so as i said i just covered it up.

I was just driving mine in the rain, I now have a nice foot bath in the drivers side footwell. In the space of about 10 minutes I ended up with about 10mm of water. I really should clean out the vent I suppose but it's the only way I clean my feet

I tend to find if anyone else shuts my passenger door, at the first sign of heavy rain I get a puddle that fills the foot well. My solutions.. don't have passengers! work well last time we had rain.

my sierra leaked always when it rained and it would always drop water on my accelerator foot.
Found out there was rust all under the windshield around where the hole for the antenna is. I just cut the rust, welded a plate, bogged it up and painted it.

what are the 2 groves in a seem , i see when i fold down the windscreen, just in front of the dash. they are about 3 or 4 mm wide and about 40 mm long.

also i cleaned out those heat vent s and i still get water like water fall

i know it a soft top and accept i get wet, but i dont like baths

The roof doesn't leak even in the heaviest rain.

I only get wet if I wind the window down before I take off..
well i had a minor leak due the the velco comeing off but $40, one cute auto trimmer and 10 pop riviets later, that's fixxed

If you've been fiddling under the dash it's quite common to knock the heater hoses loose and let the water in to.

I found that the silly black pseudo vents were a great rust trap on the targa bar, once rusted through they let water in which runs down and fills the foot wells nicely, also check the door alignment for proper sealing.

Just drill a few more drainage holes in the drivers side floor, problem solved. Works for me.

I ended up fixing mine be getting the garden hose and sticking it up the black drain vents in the engine bay. Couldnt believe the amount of crap that came out
To check if it was fixed i tried to fill the top vents with water and it drained out through the black pipes strait away.
note- using this method you will get water in the footwell while fixing it.

i found a plug on the floor, lol

looks like suzuki preempted this problem..
easy to drain now
