sd33 - sd33t

my old man has a sd33t lined up to replace his old sd33. am i right in saying that the sd33t are 12v? what would have to be changed???starter,alternator,lights etc. wiring can still be used if the relays and so on are changed??? we just need to be sure, not mechanical freaks...anyhelp would be great

all of the above would need to be changed.... thats correct....
but if your SD33 is 24 volt.... might be easier just to take the alternator and starter off your old motor and put it on the turbo diesel...
that way its 24 volt.... and no changing everything else...

what about glow plugs??? these may need to be changed.......

Here is a link to
electric diagram SD33 (24V) and SD33T (12V) on the common sheet. You can find all equipment wich would have to be changed.

rightyo, thanks all. so if we chose to stick to his 24v lights and everything else. the starter and alt off the old engine would have to go on,,,straight swap anyone????? the glow plugs got mentioned. this a correct one???? just get new ones i take it. sorry to be a pain.

jus switch your glow plugs starter and alternator off your 24volt system onto the turboi desiel 12 volt system

thanks screwy. also while your on here how long has your had the ute cab. Dad has had his cab undercoated for about 2 years now or maybe a bit more but money hasnt permitted to go any further. now his tired old sd33 makes it worse. I cant wait til we get it done then we can do my lux. Your truck looks tops, go tuff truck. so no bracketry changes?????glowys go straight on...

as we speak im updating my thread.... shes got a new look again

yeh glow plugs un screw and screw back in easy as..... ute cab bolts straight onto the same body mounts thats correct.

Would the injector pump cotrol motor have to be changed also? I'd guess it would??
Injector control motor, glow plugs, starter and alt pretty much would cover the electrics on the motor.

that would be the absolute lot if you go the 24volt path....
