I know a guy that lives near me he has done the swap but he did the 2.7ltr
nice fit looks like a really nice engine in a sierra although it will be alot of work.

if you were considering the swap then your better off using a 2.5 or a 2.7L motor as the 2L 2.5L and the 2.7L all share the same block diementions and just differ in bore and stroke and a few accessories

Just be aware I think this engine may be too big to get DOT approval. But hey when has that stopped us doing anything we really want to. A brake upgrade may be required as well

if anyone is thinking seriously about this conversion, i dont reckon it would be too much heavier but all the new gadgets and add ons could weigh up
BTW smart thinking ofr57
does anyone have the Kw and torque for the 2l V6, 2.5 and 2.7??

A lot of us have had to get the timing chain or guides looked at around the 100k mark so i'd factor that into you budget as well.

Personally, I don't think this motor is Mazda's best work. (yup, it's a mazda motor) It makes about the same numbers as the 2.0 four cylinder, but has less bottom end torque, will be heaps harder to fit, heavier, and is less durable.

I would go the 2.5 or 2.7 if you needed a V6, but how much motor do you need a 2.7 would be a real handful in a small tyred sierra - I have been in 1.0 litre LWB cars that drive really sweet and have heaps of power when geared right (no, really!) so unless you had plenty of wheelbase and stability to drive a high speed, (where the short stroke of the V6 makes for a nice responsive motor) then you might be better with a boring old 1.6... or a 660cc cappucino motor (sorry, that was just silly)
