2.5L V6 Grand Vitara Fuel Consumption

Post by mtbez »

Does anyone know what you get in L/100km for this engine. Redbook says 8.1L/100km for highway & 11 for urban, but NRMA test showed around 12l/100km highway & more for urban?
I am thinking of getting a 2000 model but only if it doesn't guzzle too much.

I have a 98 2.5L V6 GV and I'm getting about 10L/100km highway driving. 11L/100km city driving. Mind you, I have 235/70R16's instead of the standard 235/60R16. I also have a dodgy rack on the roof and a 1" body lift which cripples the air flow. If I take the rack off, I can get it down to 9L/100km on highway. Not sure if it would change that much with city driving though.

If I have a week of no cross winds or high winds on the freeway, it gets down in the 9's too.
Yea...That's drivable.....You go first
