Body to chassis stud size/thread Q's
Body to chassis stud size/thread Q's
Hey lads,
Just picked up my new Zook, and with it came a body lift in a box. It's different than I've used before (ie GQ), an requires the studs from the body to be threaded, block screwed on, the bolted from underneath.
Question..... is this the normal way Zook body lifts work, and what size thread cutter do I need to buy to extended the thread.
Cheers
Dean

Sorry,
Yeh, 10mm x 1.25 pitch.
A lot nicer way of doing them as drilling them out is a PITA and looks crap. Have a search or look in the bible at some of the bodylift threads and you will see a couple different ways.
if u do decide to do another way i would have a buyer for the bodylift kit.
cheers

I am now making body lift kits with female bolts. You just jack the body up, slide the alloy block over the original stud, and then lower the body down onto the rubber body mount. then just wind the female bolt up from underneath. not cutting required, and its fully reversable too.
Just incase you get sick of cutting thread onto your studs

having done it this way more times than I'd like to remeber I agree with you whole heartedlyBoopa wrote:OK...installed the BL today with the kit that came with the Zook, being the threaded type as mentioned above, and all I have to say is do yourselves a favour and buy the female bolt type from Gutless.
Cutting those threads....what a bitch of a driveway job!
