'83 FJ60 AirCon wiring diagrams

Post by beatle_bayly »

G'day all, new here, first post.

I require a GOOD wiring diagram for the aircon circuit in an '83 FJ60, or a knowledgable person to answer my question. My Gregorys manual shows zip.

I have a 6.2 V8 fitted and as a result, my tacho no longer works.

Believe it or not, the aircon in the G-pak petrol requires a tach signal for it to function (something to do with the Idle-Up circuit).

I've jumperd a wire so the AC is now running continuously but would like to have it cycle on/off. Here in the tropics the evap soon turns into a block of ice !!

I checked my Dad's HJ60 barn-door model and the AC control card looks similar to mine in that it has a temp dial, but it doesn't have the RPM dial. I'd like to know if it's simply a matter of dropping the circuit card from a base model HJ into the slot to return the AC to normal function ?

Another fix would be to have a functioning tacho. Any ideas ? I DON"T want to plumb into the alternator as I haven't finished playing with pulley sizes and positions.

Thanks

if you arent on dialup you will want to download this PDF file. Its about 100mb, hence the dialup warning :).

To save a copy to your computer after it downloads press on the Disk icon toward the top left of screen.

It is the toyota body repair manual and has all the wiring diagrams.

You can also get your engine manual from the birfield site aswell.

Not sure wether it will be in the engine or body manual but im assuming body. I dont have a copy of these on the PC im on or id just open it up and screenshot the wiring diagram for you.
