Gear question AGAIN

Post by JayCee83 »

I have finally narrowed it down to two types and just would like some personal opinions to help with the final decision.

1. 5.14:1 Calmini - $1,275 (including freight)
2. 4.9:1 Rockmonsters - $1,195 (including freight)

I have not heard much about the Rockmonsters, has anyone else?

Just in case you are wondering i have a 1.3lt sierra with 31" claws.

Any opinions or experience would be greatly appreciated.

In reality, you may be limited by what is actually in stock from your chosen supplier.

How did you get this price?
What did they quote you for freight?
I got a quote of $96 freight.
So 550 for gears plus 96 freight converted to Aus$ = $875.46 :?

That price from ABT in Australia, Calimin in the US does not have any in stock at the moment and i have never ordered anything from overseas so i am unsure about doing it. I have heard that there can to some lengthy delays and major headaches. Have you dealt with them directly?

The 3.7 diffs, are they the standard ratios for a sierra, I have not changed mine.

3.7:1 is the standard ratio for WT zooks, NT is 3.9:1. I got my gears from ABT, Sean did good job with service, no dramas.

Okay, i have got a quote from Calmini in the US for US$655.35 including freight that $886.95 AUD with 5-7 days delievery.

Or $1275 including freight from ABT.

I have never order anything from overseas and have no idea how safe it is.

Can anyone tell me there experiences with ordering things from Calmini
