Since I'm not willing to commit myself to buy an 80's or a 100"s cruiser just yet I thought that I could start of with getting the hubs & rims first and get the rest later

I see you've gone for the light weight, unbraked trailer route. Has anyone here used their Feroza to tow a big camper trailer around the 1000kg mark? And if so, Whats it like towing on the beach in soft sand? Reason i'm asking is 'cos im looking at building my own camper but haven't decided which way to go about it yet. Suppose i could hire one and drag it up the beach to see how it goes!

This was the main reason I went this way cos after 2 jerry's , water tank and the gas bottles all full etc , plus all the crap we take away with us the weight soon adds up , anything over 750ks needs breaks

A guy I know recently sold his Feroza because he bought a camper trailer and reckoned it had problems towing it on road. Bought a 3.0 diesel turbo Surf.
Another person I know of had a Feroza and towed a camper trailer all through the Flinders Ranges with it and said it went like a dream! I don't know the details of the different weights for each camper trailer.
I've towed a small tipper trailer with a Suzuki quad motorbike plus other crap in it, had a 350 litre luggage pod full on the roof, plus the Feroza chockers and reckon it went quite well- even through the Adelaide Hills. Didn't have any troubles doing 110km/h and got up to 140 at one stage passing on a long straight stretch. Only very steep hills slowed it down.

Yer , when I was getting quotes to canvas the trailer I also wanted a stone guard made up , I've seen a few campers getting around with ones made up of shade cloth , had my mind set on a ali checker plate one , see what happens
