Outer Limits 4x4 Board

a quick look over the vehicle (wife's been driving it for a while) and I noticed that the condensor fan was not turning (with the compressor going). A quick look, and I immeadiately thought the fan was dead. A quick call to the mitsu dealer. Couldn't get just the fan motor so it had to be the whole assembly. When the dealewr said the price ($700+) i didn't have to say anything, his reply to me was, "well I suppose your not going to replace it with a genuine part then". Drove past supercheap to check out the fans, around $60 but it would require some metalwork to fit.

Got home, decided to flush some of the dirt out of it, and hey presto it worked. The wife got a valentine day pressy after all (not having to pay for a new fan).

The a/c fan on these do not automatically turn on with the a/c.
They are wired to a pressure switch in the a/c circuit and only get the signal to run if the pressure gets to a certain point.
You can have this easily rewired to run as soon as the a/c clutch cycles.
I removed my a/c system and mounted the fan to a bracket I made up and still had room next to it for another fan (after the condenser was removed).
The other one was a DC10 (Davies Craig) which is physically the same size as the standard fan and it cost $99 at Supacheap.
Both fans are wired to switch on the console for those steep hill climbs on extra hot days. Works very well....................
