QLD 4x4 wreckers, (nissan)

the GU copped a bit of a massaging to the tupperware rear bumper/flare on the passenger side. Now the tail light assemb, or flares wont stay on properly/at all!

Genuine and new, they are $600 COST  to the local panel beater. All up he quoted me $1600 for flares, the beating out a bit of a press in on the door, and a dent in the wheel arch, paint etc (both of which are mostly under the flare and should be hidden once its back on, if not they are almost un-noticable anyway)...

So after taking that price on board, and quickly tossing it overboard again ive decided to hunt around the wreckers.

Looking around for some decent wreckers in QLD.

Just googled, and emailed a place in Ballarat or somewhere...

Im hoping its fairly easy to find these parts as I assume most wrecks/write offs happen front first (head on) so there should be a few around?

The other option is make the bits stay on as best you can then get all the panel work done at once before you sell it assuming you are going to do more damage.

Its usually cheaper to get a heap of small stuff done at once rather than go back several times

Mark2,

i understand what you are saying. As it turns out i have some panel damage on the rear driver quater panel near the upper lights too, that i wanted to get seen to. Also, half of glasshouse forestry has been painted in a nice tone of dark metallic nissan blue, so i need to have a go at getting that buffed out.
He said that an option was he could try getting some of the mounting clips and hardware and plastic weld any broken pieces and generally get it tidied up and neatened and back on securely.

But yes, these are probably all things I would do before selling to get it all done at once, in case of future damage to a recently repaired vehicle.

dirtyGQ,

Thanks! ill give em a try. ;)

I've used Southside 4x4 wreckers a couple of times through work. 3274 1222. They may be able to help.

Have used these guys a bit and they're good to deal with. Also Fester at All 4x4 Parts in Minden... 5426 8365. He's good for a stir too.

Cheers,
Ryano

Mates of mine with GU's attach the rear tail lights with springs back to the body work somewhere to help keep them in place rather then popping out.
