Just an interesting story, I had the little rubber seal thing fall out of one of my front factory GU flares this morning so I thought I would silcone it back in. I got the hose to wash a bit of mud I could see out of the flare but after 10 minutes there was still mud coming out. I pulled the inner plastic guard out and then took the flare off. There was about 1kg of dirt in the flare, it was about half full.
I could look at the trips I had been on from the mud layers including the sand from QLD. I decided to take the rest of them off which wern't much better with heaps of dirt in them.
I just thought I would let people know they fill with mud pretty easily apparently, and I avoid mud as much as possible.
