Axle Resplining

Post by bubs »

Does any body know any shop in Brisbane which can spline 1.704" OD 40 spline axles? I am pretty sure this is the same size spline they use in the 40 spline Ford 9" stuff.

Thanks

Do you know the pressure angle?

If it is a 30 degree pressure angle, the Maxi-Drive down the coast should be able to do it, if it is 45 degrees then anyone that can spline toyota axles should be able to do it.

zentih engineering at milton did do this but the cost was rather prohibitive for a one off job - read like $500 + and that was a quote I had from about a year ago.

I had some splines remachined here in Melbourne for about $180 I think using an endmill which is quite labour intensive compared to hobbing but he did some other stuff for me at the same time.
