Auto Transmission Problems Need Advise.

Post by The Master »

Hi All,

A mate of mine has a 92 Pajero and sound like his automatic transmission is fcked. Slow to shift up, engine revs hards, doesn't like to reverse...

Anything obvious to check for?

If not, would you get the transmission rebuilt or source one from a wreckers? Any idea on relative costs? Brisbane sources?

Thanks for any advise and tips.

Cheers,

Carl

Almost identical list of problems on an old Ford 4sp of mine ... and she was farked, $2800 rebuild with complete gearset replacement.

I'd try and source a good second hand unit, they should be a dime a dozen being the majority are shopping trolleys and autos are very common in them.

I'd hope so. I'd hate to have to kill him for not thinking to do that.
