Battery light won't go out!

On the way to work this morning the battery light went on, pulled over check everything, all connectins good. as i had been playing in the mud on sunday i thought i had farked it, so got a reco alt from bursons, for $110, sweet!

go home fit it, start her up, light is still on, hmmmm check connections and put some delectic greese in the plug at the back of the alt, sweet its now charging close to 14 volts at idle, turn everything on and drops to around 13, and when car is off drops to 12.74.

but still the light won;t go out, have i missed anything? i have tripple check all connections.

toyota external regulator is rooted open it up and clean the mud out

Under the bonnet. :lol:

I reckon it'll be a rectangular tin thing bolted to the body, somewhere not far from the alternator. Probably have two wires/one plug. Pull it apart to clean it. If it has an internal fuse, have a good look at it. Be careful not to bend anything while you're cleaning it. Seal it up with insulation tape when you put it back together.

Of course, the flash ones are solid state - can't pull it apart.

Shot down to the auto elec this morning. Turned out to be a coil burnt out on the volatage regulater, he recons the old alt's diode shit itself causeing this to burn out.

waiting for a new regulater to come in right now :armsup:
