Dudes,
my engine stalls - you start it and it stalls - no problem restarting and if you hold the revs up and drive away it's OK until you leave it off for a few hours
I suspect the idle step motor as the idel has been irratic for a while
where is it - is it under the throttle body??

It's just to the side of the throttle body. It has a 6 pin plug on it and has two 8mm/phillips heads screws holding on. To test the IAC motor you need a multimeter and test for continuity between the inner pins and the outer pins.....

The pins look something like the above.... hold one lead of the multi-meter on one of the centre pins and test for continuity between the terminals either side of it. Repeat for the bottom "row". (4 tests in total) If one circuit is open circuit then yoy have a faulty IAC motor. Does sound like the motor is U/S tho.
Hope this helps....

Hudson,
Thanks mate, I found it and found that the steper coils are intact - 26ohms between each winding
I did a full cleanout of it and the throttle body etc
We'll see if its fixed and if I ned a new one from Auto1 for $260
