differences in LATE sd33 and sd33t??

Post by zen »

now its a european sd33 n/a mid 80's motor.now i know about the differences on early motors, but it seems to me nissan wouldnt build 2 different engines for ever..it diffenatly has the piston squirters, but would the head ports be different? as the pistons different again or not?? crank different??

as i said i know they are different on early models but this is UK spec patrol lump (sd33t not available here, atleast never seen one)

reason for asking turboing n/a motor..i know its very possible as i have seen it done over here with no probs at all (even 100k later) but want to find out if any differences in engine..but nissan dealers here are not too helpful.only difference they can find is gaskets and manifolds etc.

any thoughts??(espically scandanvian friends)

oh engine will be intercooled and engine no is sd33 160240

The injector pump is also different, the n/a one uses a throttle body to generate a vacuum signal which operates a diaphram which in turn operates the rack, on the turbo version the rack is operated via the throttle cable (i have an 85 non turbo)
There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots
