I have an 85 Diesel Hilux which has the Injector Pump leaking.
It "seems" to stop leaking when the car is warm. I have had a ( rough) quote to have it fixed, but just cant afford it at the moment.
I know Diesels dont like air in the fuel line, but - ??????
Should I drive it, and take the chance ( for a while ) or is it too risky ??

There was a bloke on here a while ago that was trying to do it himself, not sure if he worked it out.
For a pump rebuild bear minimum your looking at 1k, while your there you may aswell do your timing belt to save the labour cost down the track, aswell as tappets, injectors and glow plugs.
I had the above done last november at Rankin Diesel in bayswater for ~$1800.
There isnt any real risk in driving the car round, the seal will swell and shrink as the car warms up and also depending on the humidity of the air, on a hot day mine used to pour out, the day i toook it down to be fixed hardly leaked at all because it was cold wet and miserable. The only real problem youll find is poor fuel economy and if you have a asphalt driveway youll start to eat it away.
Short of this, try searching wreckers/trading post/parts peddler/ebay for rebuilt pumps, R&R of the pump is fully explained in a gregories manual available from supercheap for around $30, or find one on ebay too.
Eventually, every pump built before the mid 90's is going to leak as the seals in these pumps require the sulphur in diesel to lubricate them, but with new low sulphur diesel, the seals arent lubricated and dry out/shrink/crack, hence your pump leaks.
