Your Thoughts?

Post by patrolpaul »

Guy's,

I currently have about $1500 to spend on my GQ diesel LWB. I have thought about a few things that would be good to get but can't make up my mind in what order to get them, since there is a lot of experiance here I thought I would give some examples of what I am thinking and let you guys help me decide. You can see my rig here http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... hp?t=68062

Most of my driving will now be in Vic Otways and High Country.

1) Decent tyres (35" ET2's or similar)
2) ARB rear locker
3) ARB front locker
4) Sliders / rear bar
5) anything I have forgotten (your suggestion)

Thanks for your assistance

I'd be aiming at tyres first. there was a tyres versus lockers poll a while ago :P

Other than that front locker before rear in a GQ - the Rear LSD is pretty damn good.

sliders, if you get tyres first youll damage the sills. Then you will have to fix them up before your "alowed" to get a locker.........

if u shop wisely and are a bit handy, u will get a set of second hand 35's and build urself a set of sliders. definately tyres before lockers. lockers are awsum but will get u further in the shit. tyres and protection then ull be set for lockers

As you already have BFGs (going off your members thread) Id say go the front locker.
As stated, the rear lsd is pretty good and you can make your own sliders for the price of steel and some welding rods.

Your other option is to buy a fridge for the beer

why not wait and go for a drive in your new surrounds and see what you think you need...

31's will do the high country...

Otways is another world from there.

Tyres followed closely by slider (to save those sills!).
Front locker before rear.
Then the rest ...
