H15x/ 1HDx upgrade questions

G'day guys.. I've spent the last few days searching the archives on this and other forums to get as much info as possible about doing a swap into my 1990 SWB 70 series (PZJ70 - 5 cylinder 1PZ) 4.56 ratio diffs
My vehicle was stock but is now running 35's.. the 1PZ powers along ok and I havnt had any real complaints about it ( it is a little slow on hills but can stick to 100-110 fairly easy)
However.. My gearbox is an R151F..and yep..I've done 5th gear..
I've been thinking about what Gbox to put back into it. I was originally going to drop a 75 series H55F into it, however if I'm going to drop something in there it may as well be as tough as I can get in case of future power upgrades..so I think I'll go for a H15x
Now a H15x isnt that cheap from a wreckers so it got me thinking, maybe I buy a wrecked 80 series and drop a complete 1HDx/H15x into it-and get a power upgrade at the same time??
it should be fairly simple as my 1PZ is basically a 1HZ missing a cylinder.
SO:
Which H15x is better H150F or H151F
From what I've researched, the H150F is better for offroading.. and considering the 35's.. lower ratio 1st/2nd/3rd would be good..
But does the H150F come behind a 1HDx??
Which would be the better 1HDx to look for
post 93 1HD-T (better synchros etc)
or 1HD-FT
I dont think I'd look at the 1HD-FTE due to more complex electronics...the reason I wanted diesel in the first place was to stay clear of electronics..
Bear in mind I want to be able to have bush-mechanic reliability.. a tough Gbox.. decent offroad ratios and a bit more power for cruising
Or should I just find a box and stick with the 1PZ?? -which is going fine after 320 kms
Also its my understanding that the 1HZ never came with a H15x g'box behind it is this true???
Sorry if this was a longwinded post.. but I've researched a fairb bit of info and still have quite a few q's!
Cheers
Dan
