solid axle axel removal

Post by roverlux »

hay guys, wanting to know, when removing axles to get diff out of rear of hilux, do the brake lines have to be dissconected fromm the drum?? or is it simply a matterof taking the wheels off and undoing the 4 bolts behind the drum and pulling the axel out a bit??

all you have to do is disconnect the hand brake cable from rear of drum, undo brake line at rear of wheel cylinder then undo the 4 nuts retaining axle to axle housing then the axle will come out with a pull.
