V6 convertion Q's

Post by Hoppy11 »

Just a question about the oil and temp senders used on Commodore V6 convertions, I have been told that I need the Holden originals for the sake of the computer and the Nissan ones for the Gauges, the question is how do I get these to work together, do I get a fitting that threads into the engine that has an allowance for both senders???
Any thoughts would be awesome

With the water temp, I think you'll find there will be 2 senders - one for the ECU, and the other for the dashboard.. find what one does what, and replace the dash sender with a nissan item

Oil pressure would read straight to your dash also.. so do the same again

On a side note- oil pressure sender should be pretty easy to swap, but temp sender may not be (depending on the car of course).. worst comes to worse just add the Nissan temp sender somewhere into your cooling system

Sounds easy enough, It's an ecotec in a 84 petrol Mk, I will have look tomorrow to see if I can find the other temp sender, could only see one.
Cheers

There's only 1 sender on the patrol motor, but the V6 should have 2
