Just joined up. Looking for some info/advice. I've got a jap import SWB NF Shorty. It's a 3ltr V6 with 67g2 engine. I've had it for about 6 months and have just been fixing up cosmetic issues that it had when i bought it. What i want to know is there any 3ltr nf shorties going around? cause i hav not seen any. all the paj shorties i've seen are the older 2.6ltr ones and a few of the nh, nl shorties. I need a fuel tank as mine is seriously dented from 75ltr down to around 60ltrs at the max and wanted to no how i could get a replacement. Would a tank out of ng,nh,nj fit? or no good because of there new shape.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum.
For the fuel tank, need to know if the Jap model is coil or not?
I have a NG import but in the 2.5 ITD (It does have coils)
Not sure if the 90lt tank will fit from the LWB but thats what I'd be looking for.
I've had a look at the rears of the vehicles and think the 90lt should bolt in using the existing mounting points.
If anyone has done this/ tried I believe we would like to know.
Nice to see another Gen1 SWB
Cheers

Fellas, the fuel tank on SWB and LWB models both extend from behind the rear axle to inside the rear bumper. Look at this distance on both models - they're different! The shorter rear overhang on the shorty gives the excellent departure angle, which is so great off-road - but it means there's less space for a fuel tank.
NF Shorty
If your existing tank is 75 litres I guess you've got coil rear, so the 75 litre tank from Aus model shorties should fit. The leaf spring rear had a much smaller tank - 60 litres or so.
Cheers,
Scott

Yeah the old girls got coils in the rear. Thought about the lwb tank too but no good. Also looked at a long range but could only find an auxillilary tank or would need to go custom. Got a quote for a custom tank $1000 and up. That's nearly half of what i paid for it! Gave that idea a miss.
So now it looks like i'll be ringing around the wreckers. Fingers cross someone has got one, cause i am so sick of the range of a thirsty paj with only a 6o ltr fuel tank.
