Trustworthy / good mechanic, melbourne

Post by mrx78u »

Hi chaps,

I've just moved down to melbourne from sydney, and i'm trying to find a workshop to do some repairs / servicing on my pajero. I tend not to have alot of trust in mechanics due to some bad experiences.

Someone who can actually recognise a carby would be handy too :p as that's where I suspect some of my problems lie.

Cheers,
Mick.

Probably should tell us what part of melbourne you are located in, so we can suggest some good mechanics.

If you're in the west, try SS Auto's... Sam is an excellent mechanic and easy to deal with. He has been our family mechanic for as long as I can remember. He calls a spade a spade and wont take on work beyond his capabilities.

EDIT: How slack am I! Is it this mob:

Victorian Diesel Services Pty Ltd
Factory 3/ 17 -19 Somerton Park Drv Campbellfield 3061

Has anyone else got experience with them?

Sorry to hijack your thread mrx78u, just thought it'd be better than starting an identical thread on diesels.

Yep, I have found Sandy to be well priced and honest which can be hard to find in a mechanic. He services our patrol when we are in melb. Obviously he is discerningand knows his stuff given his comp vehicles are patrols. :)

Another good one is Greg Smith of Smithys Outback Gear in Cranbourne -- 5995 4325

Knows Patrols inside and out, and he used to have a Pajero aswell. Also been affiliated with Pajero club and competed in pajero challenges as well as more serious comps

I'm sure your Paj will be in good hands with him. Prices are reasonable too! :)
