swap 3f engine for a 2f?

Post by timbocruise »

just contemplating engine swaps and the like for my 62 series cruiser

the 3f just hasnt got eough low down torque for towing my trailer, i can get hold of a 2f motor that is in good condition with headers and a exhaust to suit

anyone know if the fuel economy is the same or similar? being that the 2f is 4.2 litre rather than 4 litre capacity

the 2f would work well with my h55f 5 speed box too and factory 4.1s

thanks in advance!

it will bolt in yes but the swap will probably be illegal, you can't swap in a motor that is older than the motor that comes out.

the 3F has higher power and torque than the 2F, the 2F may be slightly better off idle but that's about it. a set of extractors and possibly some better carburation on the 3F could be a better option.
