Boosting a slowmount

Post by GQ4.8coilcab »

Just wandering , besides buying a highmount, how to get a slowmount a bit quicker. I want to compete in the Low Mount class in NAV NITES for now until I find a highmount. What if i put a 6hp motor on my XD9000? Ive already put a 130amp alternator and big wiring so is there anything else I can do?

Any help great,
Cheers Julian

ive got a XD9000 slow mount at the back of my 80 ute i had set up a 24volt system for my high mount on the front so i connected the slow mount to the 24v system. It has made it heaps faster but i sure makes extra gear noise. The 6 hp warn motor will go straight on to the XD9000 and will make it as good/fast as it could be.

Do you have to do any other mods to a winch when putting on the larger motors? I have a 10k Warn, thought about a 6hp for it...

Thanks

Straight bolt-on but the motor is very long, making a Warn 10k really big ... er, make that bigger!!!

If I remember correctly, 6hp is 20mm longer than a 2.5hp which is 15mm longer than 4.6hp motor.
