Interested in a Snorkel Kit For a Feroza

Post by Master_Buster »

I have enough Pipe at home to make another Snorkel like the one on my Bush Buster (see pic)

If you are interested i can ship all required parts to plumb it down your guard you just have to do the work under the bonnet to connect to you current filter system email me if interested .... i am looking at possibly making more as a kit for ebay if there is enough interest.

email me if interested.

Gold.. bah.... it'll get shabby painting rubber bends gold... It would be a lot easier to paint the metal black to match the bends...

For a real nice job... get it powdercoated

You can't go bling on a 4x4 :D Just doesn't go

The pipe is not perfect it does have minor scratches and the bends are pvc pressure pipe white in colour (paint them what ever colour you like, i did :D ) a 3inch hole needs to be cut thru the outer and inner guard and from there you are on your own as i have a hyundai lantra airbox under the bonnet and i used 2 x 45 degree pvc bends with a joint pipe running thru the middle to reach the input on the airbox.

your configuration will be different. :?

i will write a full list of parts and sizes used when i get a chance so keep an eye on this post for more details. :)

as for how much to send somewhere, i have not done a total on parts used yet to even work out a sell price so i will update that asap ;)

Doesn't cost all that much to have a bit of 3" Exhaust pipe with mandrel bends made. Being 3" a Safari Snorkel top will slip straight on aswell. Painted the same colour as your bumpers/flares would look good.

Had Lillford Exhausts at Thornton do one up for me once, will probably get them to do another for me for the 4Runner in the near future.

The plans for my snorkel are thanks to this guy.

 http://dougfreeze.com/daihatsu/burlz/index.html

The only difference i did was i used 60mm anodised aluminimum and pvc pressure pipe (because it is a smooth outer radius) and i made a different bracket to hold the snorkel to the pillar ( from a pod filter bracket) :D :D
also once i had the hole in my guard (thanks to Michael from Wicked Exhaust in Rutherford  ) i made my own joining pipe ( see above post ).

Total price including the airbox ( Hyundai Lantra ) from the wreckers.

Pipe = $30 still got leftovers
pvc joints = $ 36
Rubber piping to join pvc thru middle $5 still got leftovers
Selleys Bond & Seal = less than $20 heaps left over
Flat Black Paint = Had 1/2 a tin left over from painting the wheels
Hole in guard = 2 x 6 pack Tooheys
Trimming for hole = $8
Miscellaneous = $15 maybe...

About $120 to the completed product is what it cost me :D Heaps cheaper than a Safari and i think better looking. :D  :D

can you post a pic under the bonnet... I'm interested in your lantra air box.
I just love the sound of a 1.3 charade air box with the resonator removed, and have bought one for the feroza, but i cant work out how to mount it in the engine bay...

any pics of your setup would be a great help. ;)

the air box is held on with 1 bolt, but due to the other pipes holding it all together it is very sturdy. :D :D

here are the pics that got lost somehow
