Pressure Plate bolt torque

Post by sudso »

Just putting the new clutch in.

The manual says to tighten the p/plate bolts to 2.2 Nm WTF!

Elsewhere the manual says the torque value for M8 bolts is 20 - 22 Nm

Anyone got info on this, I cant believe that pressure plate bolt torque is only 2.2Nm or 20ft.lb
that manual is confusing!

cheers, sudso

Hey Sudso,

I have the genuine Holden CD Manual and it has the tourqe for the bolts to be 17.6 +/- 4.9 N.m ( 13.0+/- 3.6 lb.ft)... (this is for the V6).

Cheers

Thanks Rainsey, I took a punt and did em to 20Nm just to be on the safe side.
Now your reply puts me at ease! I dont have to pull the gearbox out again to retension those bolts. Phew!!

I know who to contact now for correct info ;) :D
