Hi all, I have a stuffed H diesel in a 45 series troopy, and was wondering is it worth putting a v8 in it, or searching for a 2f to put in. I really Don't want to put in another diesel as I want something different.
It is only going to be used for 4wding as I have a daily driver,
I would be looking mainly at 350 chev's as It seems there common in 40's.
I was just after people opinions and even options on what you think would be good.
thanks
Dean

just do it ya girl, thats what buying a toyota is about. You know the engine will shit itself eventually and then you can put in a V8. Im stuck with an unbreakable TD42 so i wont be getting a V8 for ages.......

If you want something different, why go a 350 chev they are like bums.
Try something else, a 289, 351, or 304, 396, or even a 454

The pro's: good power and torque and fun
The cons: Need to beef up other parts$$$$$

I have done this. engineering was $70. if you use the diesel box its strong enough. the g52 is marginal (but it served me well)
I would use a crate (brand new 295hp) 350 with hei etc. you could have one for $3000 (I bought one for the boat a while back) complete then its just a marks and hoses etc. have the whole thing in for 6 if you are careful.

Mines a older carbied unleaded model chev with a T350 auto so the G52 in mine isn't getting used.
What's you engineers name? Will he do mine for 70 bucks even though I'm in SA?
