Post by bundygirl70 »

Hi , new to the scene, have a GQ & am running 33X12.5 15 on sunraysia rims, and am seriously due for new tread, have been looking a the new Cooper STT's and Cooper ST's? Is anyone driving on them or does anyone have any comments pls, i am 60% road/40% off, mainly dirt/mud/rock-no sand as yet..need more long service for that..maybe nxt yr..
Am open to suggestions for offrd tyres,

I've had both, no problems with either, but I honestly don't know why anybody would buy S/Ts any more. :? I think the STTs are better off-road, excellent on-road, and if they're noisier I haven't noticed.

The only potential downside of the STTs is longevity - I got exceptional wear from the S/Ts, and Im not yet sure the STTs will last as well.

Now, get ready for people to extoll the virtues of others: BFG muds, MT/Rs, Claws, Simex, Kumhos, Nankang, Sumitomos... What have I missed? :D

I ran the new Bridgestone Duellers on my MQ and I reckon they a great tyre very very low road noise and great off road as well, they rated highly (3rd overall I think) in the 4x4 Monthly mag late last year when they did a extensive tyre test.

If you want a copy of the test I copy it for you and mail it out, just let me know.
Cheers.....Steve

A mate of mine just baught a set of STT's (33x12.5) and they are great.
He lives in Rockhampton and drives 500km's each way to work every 4 days, he also does alot of trips to Townsville (7 hrs) and inbetween all that, drives off road with them.
I will be buying a set myself shortly, as the old STT's that i have are nearly dead.
Just for the record, the mine sites are extremely hard on tyres and most 4x4's are either running ST's or MTR's i havent seen many with STT's yet.
Hope this helps, Carl

the question was stt's or st's yes or no???? yes......

stt, i'm running a 2nd hand set from ryano at fourbies marooka and am very supprised at how quiet they are..... the only obvious reason against is wear and since getting a gu a few months ago i have done over 20 000 and am pleasantly supprised with wear rates and not many would do more kms than me as am an all of qld rep i think the decision is simply

stt's
