hey all,
Installing an alarm into the fez all good so far . Just wondering where you'r all getting the door input, parking light output and where you tied the immobilizer in? Trying to get some ideas here.

Door input usually goes onto interior light power... unless you install all your own sensors on each door.. which isn't usually the case.
Parking light output goes from the parking light wires up near the switch from your dash.. if you cant find it... you can always run it from closer to the actual parkers...
With immobiliser ... usually between ignition and relay for starter? I think
See if you can get a diagram for it.. what brand is it?

Im having some issues with my immobiliser. I think my starter motor draws too much power and cuts out the alarm when i start the car. So if i use the pass through wires inbetween the fuel pump say when the alarm is off and i try to start the car there isnt enough current making it through the circuit to actually turn the fuel pump on. Ive even tried putting in a relay with direct connection to the battery.
The alarm itself is wired via 8AG cables straight from the battery (the same cable the 2 amps sit on).
The battery is also a high powered one.
I believe its the started motor because when i first got the car i needed to "tap" it a few times to actually start the car. It has fixed itself from that but im sure the bushes are on their way out.
Does my logic seem correct?

Is the ignition "on" wire to your alarm one that has power when the starter motor is engaged? Most vehicles have two IGN ON circuits- one loses power when the engine is cranking and is for non essential type stuff (eg wipers and heater fan), the other will still have 12V while the engine is cranking and stuff like the fuel pump and ECU are hooked up to this one.
Perhaps your alarm relies on the IGN on signal to hold the relays closed and the source it's hooked up to loses power while cranking?

Murcod: had a look under the passengers seat, wonderfull bunch of wires under there.
So i checked the wires going to the indicators. 1 was white and black the other solid green ( front of car) or green /small white stripe ( rear of car)
unplugged the light fitting , multimeter test. green wires are the actives.
So i connected the light out put from the alarm to the solid green but only the passenger indicators light up. and the green/white wire when connected to the alarm , didnt light up the rear indicators.
basically wondering if you know the colours or if there is a single wire i can hook the alarm into for lights. ?
other idea i had was possibly tie it into the hazard switch. But i guess that wouldnt be the best security wise?
Cheers.
