We are looking at bringing in a few 4.11 C&P from Ashcroft. These are top quality gears and have a great reputation in Britain and the world.
If we can get a few people in on the buy we can get them for $990 a set landed including all taxes and duties. This is about $400 cheaper than you can buy elsewhere.
Let me know ASAP if are interested.

Yep I'm very interested.
...was going to buy them in the UK next month but at that price it would not be worth the hassle.
Any idea of the time frame?

Well, if you can help me get another 2 people we can get them straight away.
I think there are 4 definates at the moment and we just need 6 to get those prices. As soon as we have the 6 we can order and they should only take about 2 weeks for delivery

def90, it is closer to the date.
I will count you out for now, if you change your mind in the next wee or so let me know. I really can't afford it either but I am borrowing some money of someone cause if I miss out this time I will have to pay more than $400 more to get them late.

Fantastic price but unfortunately I have no use for them, If I still had the 4.6 I wouldn't hesitate.
I think you should stick some in yours for the 35's when they go on!!
Brakes OK yet? Saw you out at the falls on Saturday, Nice and wet up there.
That Silver disco with us got thrown in at the deep end, the owner hadn't taken it ANYWHERE like that before. Has a new found respect for the capabilities of the LR, he drove up the rockledge with 15Psi in the tyres and no lockers, not a bad effort for a beginner.

Adam, do you know what the freight charges etc are ? I work for a freight forwarder and i want to see how it compares, we have weekly freight consols from the UK .

No, I don't know the freight charges. I am not bringing them in, I am just helping get a few buyers cause I wanted to make sure that we had enough people to get the good price.
I can have an educated guess though. I am guessing $180/set for freight and iport duty to Melbourne.

Just to keep you up to date, I should have a definate order date by this Friday. I imagine the order will go in next week or the following.
Reddo & Up2nogood (maybe you both might want to PM me your real names

) is that timing ok with both of you. From previous expreience Ashcroft are pretty good and usually have an item out to you within 14 days.
C.A.Mosely, are you interested if it is within the next 2 weeks...good deal!

Dave , do you use a forwarder or send direct ? I imagine they would be too heavy for Royal Mail ?

Don't send mine to Melbourne!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reckon it might be a good idea if we pay Ashcroft separately and then Dave ships out to everyone, depending on location?
And that they are shipped as spare parts for 1960 model cars..........

If under a $1000 these will be duty and gst free, air freight is a killer @ approx. $6.40/ kg plus handling and doc fees/ local transport (UK).
If the weight is under 20kg each set they could be posted seperately and should work out cheaper. What is the actual cost of the gear sets ?
By my calculations just under GBP300 per pair(F&R) ?

Also you may need to get their 24 spline t/shaft flanges so yours will fit.

Yes thats right Dave.
I have looked at it al regarding bringing them in seperately but you can't get them at the low price from Ashcroft if you do that. The actual price of the gears if you were to buy direct from Ashcroft is 390pounds / set which means you are up for $940 even before they are shipped.
A couple of mates of mine are starting up a new business selling specialised Discovery stuff so i asked them what they could get them for and they told me if I could get a group together we could get them for $990 landed in Melbourne.
Dave, if you can give me a good price for shipping I can see if it is better than the price they have and they can go through you.

I think you are better off getting the 24spline flanges over here, they are not that expensive and plenty of people have them.

What about putting them in group age container... it will bring the cost down heaps!! We get stuff from overseas all the time and our good are very heavy (Tiles) if the customer needs then yesterday then we air fright them an it's usually 2 -3 time the amount of the good themselves.... Nick I am sure you could find a container that has some spare room in it leaving from the uk.... you will have to wait a bit longer but the saving in $$ might be worth it
Just a thought
