tips on mounting hi lift under ute tray

Post by BrettInUte »

Im wanting in near future to mount my hi lift under my ute tray .
I have a flat steel tray - a bit over 1.8 m wide.

Im wanting to slide the hilift under from the side of the tray. (at the back - near the fuel filler (gq patrol)

I have just enough clearance to slide it under (once I lower the tie down rail a little)

Any tips on what to use to actually hold the jack
preferably
- something that keeps the mud + dust off it.
- doesnt require 3 weeks of cut /shut /weld to make it all fit !!

Im sure plenty of people have done this before...

checked link. the "quick fist" - looks great - im sure it would hold a hi lift. But I cant see how I can use it to SLIDE the thing under the tray in the first place...

but Im open to suggestions.

Cheers.

Could you mount a cylinder/tube to slide it into, then something like a single "quick fist" to secure it?
