I have 32 at the moment and the 2.8 handels them OK.
Makes me wish for a turbo though
If he wants to put on 33s chuck in some diff centres from a petrol lux (4.88 ratio) and it will bring his gearing back to standard (or close anyway).
Paul.

At the moment my suspension is CRAP I have IFS front end.
But soon to be swapped out for a solid diff .
I did a 40mm body lift to clear the 32s and put some longer shackles and shockies in to give a bit more lift.
Ask me about my suspension in a few months time.
Im planning on my lux being a flexy biatch.

go with the 33"s i run 33"'s with a stock standard 2.8 and its ok on the road and once your in low ratio you wont notice the differnce, as for clearence i have a 2" susp lift and the tyres scrub the inner guard a bit, but nothing to drastic, one day ill fit my 2" body lift which will sort the prob.

yes but at tuff truck the silver bullet had crawler transfer gears - still an impressive effort for a 2.2 slug.
now the silver bullet has a 2.4 with aftermarket turbo running 12psi, and 35" simexs - sounds and goes pretty hard. no more transfer gears though :(
Iknow how hard it goes cos a couple of weeks after I installed the motor and turbo I had to put new gears in the rear diff. no more locker burnouts!

It will have enough power to turn the 33s off road.
Keep it simple
ruff no not mine, like jake said I've just done some work on it. Denny Danis is the owner/driver.
I've seen what that truck has been through, I wouldn't want it!!
EDIT: spelled Denny's name wrong!
